AVA and Huddersfield University have been working closely together for over a decade, bridging the gap between industry and education. A couple of years ago the AVA Award was introduced to recognise some of the students’ outstanding use and application of AVA in their design work. The winners of each year get a free license of the AVA software including full access to AVA’s support and technical team.

We were delighted to be asked to join the awards ceremony at the fantastic Barbara Hepworth Building and present the awards to the three lucky designers.

Helen Ryall, a senior lecturer in printed textiles, kindly gave me a sneak peek of the student’s work before the event ceremony started and the creativity and sheer talent of all the students was a joy to witness!

The three winners were:

Chloe Greenwood – for her skill and precision using AVA, particularly in Texture Mapping
Lucy Horner – for her creativity and design work in AVA
Abby Ward – for her impressive skill development and technique in AVA

Let’s get to know them a bit better… Click here to read our interviews with the girls.

We would like to congratulate the three winners again and wish them all the best in their future endeavors! We are looking forward to supporting them in their first year starting off in the industry and can’t wait to see what they will get up to!
