What is often considered to be the textile industry’s most important event of the year has returned, but is it what it used to be?

Successfully running for more than 50 years,  Heimtextil has been the vibrant hub for like-minded businesses from all over the world, to come together and drive innovations within the textile world.

Like every other industry, we were hit by the unfortunate halt in exhibitions following what had been a prosperous 2020 show, having attracted over 60,000 visitors and 2918 exhibitors! We’ve all had to adapt to change over the last two years, and admittedly video conferencing technology does have its benefits. But as far as tradeshows are concerned, nothing can replace the authenticity of face-to-face interaction and connection.

This special summer edition in Frankfurt was AVA’s first proper trip back to participating in shows since February 2020, and don’t get me wrong, it presented some challenges – not forgetting the 36° heat! But there seemed to be a common air of apprehension from everyone attending; just how successful is this show going to be?

But how do we measure success?

For AVA, this show was a fantastic opportunity to return to more ‘normality.’ We were able to showcase our latest release, AVA 5.6, with a variety of new features developed to help support your workflow and increase productivity. We were also able to demonstrate some of Apple’s® recent technological advances using the M1 processors, including the Mac Studio™ and Studio Display.

Until we receive official numbers from the event organisers, we can’t be sure how successful the show was in terms of footfall. However, we can be sure about one thing; the benefit of being able to connect and network again amongst colleagues, familiar friends, and new faces. We’re confident in the textile industry and intend to keep exhibiting at various shows. We’d like to thank everyone who came to visit us and of course, thank you Heimtextil for bringing textiles offline!

If you have any questions about your AVA software or Apple® technology, contact support@avacadcam.com and a member of our team will be happy to help, or to arrange your personalised demonstration of the software please contact sales@avacadcam.com.

We hope to see you again in the near future.
