AVA runners…

Hell runner up North
Yes it’s as gruelling as it sounds! Well done to all the members of the AVA CAD CAM team who put them themselves through the wringer for what is called Hell Runner! You all did fantastically well and managed to avoid hypothermia- a brave team indeed.

Thanks also to all the supporters who came along to cheer the runners on and support you all during the subzero temperatures, our particularly favourite bit as spectators was the Bog of Doom! Respect and well done to the team members who all took part. Finishing times varied between 2 hours 20 mins – 3 hours 48mins, with the fastest time and overall winner coming in at 1 hour 33 mins, to note many runners didn’t even manage to complete the course and after seeing how challenging it was thats no surprise.

Manchester 10k run, May 2013
Robert Soames, Davide Cimaroli and Eileen Bailey, along withs 40 thousand others, have just recently ran the Manchester 10K and in stark contrast to the freezing temperatures of the Hell Runner above, they ran in scorching temperatures. All 3 ran well above average times despite it being an extremely hot day. Phew!  All sounds like very hard work to me!

Race for Life, Cheshire Tatton Park, Manchester, June 2013
Inspired to run for a a very special charity, Cancer Research, which is particularly personal to Eileen and Natalie. Eileen ran in aid of her cousin Lena and Natalie ran in aid of her mum who bravely fought and survived cancer 5 years ago.
This was Natalie’s and Miu’s first ever run and what a good first run for a good cause, all 3 ladies finished the run feeling invigorated and extremely proud finishing the 5 K run in 35mins- well done ladies!

East Cheshire Hospice 10k Midnight run, June 2013
Rachel Douglas was brave enough to take on a 10K run but also to do it in the dark, as we were reliably informed as the hospice cannot measure therefore the run was actually 11.64k, so Rachel actually ran 7.23 miles …Well what’s a couple of kilometres between friends? https://starlight-stomp2013.everydayhero.com/uk/rachel-douglas

Continuing on the theme of running, now that they have the running bug, the team have encouraged each other to run another 10K and half marathon later this year.

Natalie White, Eileen, Robert & Natalie Ebbage are all also in training to run the Gawsworth 10K on 15th September.

Eileen and Robert are now in training for the Macclesfield Half Marathon on the 29th of September.  This will be the longest run of Eileens life (so far). Don’t worry Eileen, you can do it! You will also have the gallant Rob there to support you if needed. Watch this space….
